You, Also, Are A Saint

You, Also, Are A Saint

November 11, 2021

On All Saints Day, we remember the people of faith who, by their lives, have shown us the gospel and what it means to live a life worthy of the calling of Christ.

At the same time, I want each of you to remember that you, also, are a saint.
Our Lutheran understanding of sainthood includes each and all of us, and so you, by your life, are showing people the good news of God in Christ Jesus. Each moment of each day you show what difference the grace and love of God is making in and for you and the whole world.

Your generosity reveals to others the generous nature of God’s love, given freely as grace to all.

Your trustworthiness reveals a God who is trustworthy and faithful to God’s promises.

Your patience is a sign to others who are waiting and longing for the fullness of God’s kingdom come and will be done on earth as in heaven.

Your love inspires and transforms the world around you, breathing life into a weary and overwhelmed earth.

You are a saint. By the grace of God in Christ Jesus at work within and through you, you can choose to reveal the amazing, wonderful, glory of God to all those who see and encounter you. Lean into the fruits of the Spirit God is growing in you – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, self-control.

Choose to live God’s love today and always – it’s what the world needs now and forever. It is who you are in Christ.

Grace & Peace,
Pastor Drew

PS – this Sunday during worship, our community of saints at Spirit in the Hills expands as we welcome new members.
