We must hear the reminder of the angels that Christ is risen. We know resurrection. It has been told to us by Christ. It has been shown to us in creation. God keeps on pulling us out of the tombs we dig for ourselves and loving us to life.
We live this resurrection each time we welcome someone outcast. We live it every time we stand with those who are bullied. New life is that first ounce of forgiveness we are able to muster. New life is messy and hard and often strange.
Yet, new life is abundant grace and love. New life is authentic connection with God and others. It is each risky start of a new friendship and each time someone dares to say, “I love you,” first.
God has reached into the tomb and brought Jesus to new life. God continues to reach into the graves we dig ourselves and love us to new life again and again and again.
This is resurrection. This is Easter. This is good news.
