What are you looking for?
To be honest about this is hard, it takes self-reflection, vulnerability.
If we’re really honest, maybe the truth is that we don’t know what it is we’re looking for…
Maybe our anthem is the opening track from U2’s Joshua Tree Album, I still haven’t found what I’m looking for…
Either way, Jesus knows what he’s looking for, and he’s found it. And it’s less of an “it” and more of a “who.”
It’s a relationship with God and with others. It’s the creation of af new community – the Kingdom of God. And Jesus finds us – when we’re sure we know what we’re looking for and when we’ve never been less certain of anything – Jesus comes to us and invites us to “Come and See”
When it gets down to it – this is what we’re looking for – who we’re looking for – the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Brings a reign of shalom, comes that we may have life and have it abundantly, creates a new community of reconciled followers in right relationship with God and with one another.
This is what we bear witness to.
This is what God forms and reforms us into by grace through faithfulness.
This is what we live and share and invite others into
And again and again we are invited into this
Jesus offers the invitation to come and see, and
Loves us to new life
