Come Holy Spirit | Sermon| Pentecost | 6.5.22

he Holy Spirit, our advocate and helper, is within and among us today just as on that day of Pentecost so many years ago. We cannot hold all the pain and suffering nor all the joy and new life that the world has to offer right now, but God can and does.

Come Holy Spirit, like a fire refine us that we can live your love. Come Holy Spirit, like wind move us from this place and keep us going when we don’t think we can take another step, but you tell us “Just on the other side is another person to love and another opportunity to receive love.”

Come Holy Spirit in your church, in this and every land, in need of reform and renewal and truth. Come Holy Spirit in our hearts that we might live your love. The church needs the Holy Spirit to once again renew us, lead us, move us, refine us, purge what’s in the way of God’s will, shake us loose from lethargy, send us to aid those in anguish and serve our neighbor in costly service.

The song at the end of the video is performed live by Joseph Mach, a local Austin singer/songwriter, who provided special music for our Pentecost worship. You can find Joseph at https://josephmach.com/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWTK… Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/josephmachmu…
